It’s not often that one wins a scholarship to New York and gets an opportunity to dance with some of the best in the industry, but when you do, it’s more than humbling, says Sunnie Mack, who was selected from a pool of 500 dancers for this honour.

Mack, a Grade 11 student recognizes it’s an opportunity of a lifetime.

“It’s a ridiculously amazing feeling!” Mack said. “People think that just because you come from a small town or don’t dance with a huge company that you’re not going to be recognized, and that couldn’t be far from the truth. I’m so honoured and even more excited to be representing my dance team and my town in such an amazing city.”

Mack started dancing at the age of six with Niko’s Dance Studio in Ryley and she couldn’t have been more thankful. . . . contd.
