Tofield Tier 3 Atoms win big in weekend games

These are some of the results from the Northern Alberta Interlock Minor Hockey League games held recently.

Tofield Tier 3 Atoms (5-5-1) won two big games over the weekend. On Saturday, Tofield beat Sturgeon 4-3 at Tofield Arena after being down 3-0 late in the second frame. Jaxon Trudel (1g 2a), Kowyn Laschowski (2g), Declan Girard (2a) and Mason Jeffrey (1g) were in on the scoring. Matthew Jansen got the win in goal. On Sunday Tofield got a 10-4 win over Ponoka at Tofield Arena on the strength of Hudson Lungal’s 6-point game (5g 1a). Kowyn Laschowski scored 4-goals himself, and Samantha Stephen (1g 1a) added the other. Assists went to: Jaxon Trudel (2a), Nicholas Tooke (2a), Cace Hart and Colben Pedersen. Matthew Jansen got the win in goal.

Tofield Tier 3 Novice (3-5-1) were scheduled to play at Wetaskiwin on Saturday, but no score was posted. On Sunday, Tofield hosted Wetaskiwin and came out on the short end of a 14-3 game. The game was close well into the second frame but Wetaskiwin broke loose with 10 straight goals to finish off the game. Merek Fritz scored two for Tofield, and Lane Dehid got the other. Bentley Carson (2a) and Desmond Fleck picked up assists. . . . contd.
