Tofield resident Mary Brown turns 99
It was an occasion to celebrate this Monday, Feb. 4 as longtime resident and floor curler, Mary Brown cut her 99th birthday cake.
Although she turned 99 on Saturday, Feb. 2, she said she has been having a great time celebrating with various groups of people, from the Lodge residents to the floor curlers, and family.

“We had a party at my daughter’s place in the weekend,” Brown said. “And since then we have had a lot of fun, going down the memory lane.”
Moving from BC to Alberta, Brown made Tofield her home after living in Calgary and a few smaller communities.
Now with nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, Brown remains busy with visits.

A resident at the Lodge, she is an avid floor curler, and rarely misses an afternoon of floor curling on Mondays at the Tofield Community Hall. . . contd.
