Bantams have a tall order against Camrose, but Coach Codd hopeful
It has been quite the run for Tofield Titans Bantams this season, according to Coach Wayne Codd, where the team came from behind and has played some gritty games on ice to overcome two of the top teams, Slave Lake (second place) and Ponoka (third place).
“We will now play first place Camrose to see which medal we play for,” Codd said.
If the Bantams beat Camrose, they cross over to play the West for gold/silver; if they lose, they will cross over still, but to play for bronze. In the medal round, they will be playing either Jasper or Edson.
“Our next series against the top team Camrose in our division will definitely be a tough one; we have run into them a few times now and have been defeated every encounter so far,” Codd said. “Our best run was in their tournament when we were up 3-0 until the later part of the second period when we ran out of steam and the momentum swung as they took over the scoreboard; their team has the best defense in the league and are an all-around good, disciplined team.”
According to Codd, the Tofield offense will have to come up with something special. . . . contd.
