RCMP caution residents of door-to-door vendors
During the past week, Tofield RCMP responded to 28 calls for service this week, of which one was a motor vehicle collision.
On April 1, members responded to a single vehicle rollover on Hwy. 14 and Rge. Rd. 182. A dump truck with a trailer hauling clay failed to negotiate the corner and rolled, blocking the highway and spilling its load. The driver was not seriously injured but was transported to Tofield Hospital by ambulance for precaution.
On April 3, Tofield RCMP were called out to a suspicious vehicle on Rge. Rd. 174, in the area of Twp. Rd. 502 with a male sleeping behind the wheel. The license plates on the truck returned to a vehicle that had been stolen from the Heisler area on April 1. Members attended and arrested the lone male occupant without incident. The male, from the Edmonton area, has been charged with Possession of Property over $5,000, Possession of break-in tools, Break and Enter, Mischief under $5,000, and Possession for the purpose of Trafficking. This matter is before the courts.
On April 4, there was a report of mischief to a vehicle that had been parked in an alley over the weekend. . . . contd.
