Research first, vote second
Here are a few things I wanted to discuss with you before the Alberta Provincial Election six days from now, as this is our last issue prior to the vote.
Standard advice would be to vote for the representative in your constituency before you vote for the party.
Although I believe that, this election is starting to make a person wonder if that is really the way to go.
I have been told now, by two experienced Caribou reporters, that certain candidates are really hesitant these days to give their opinion without referring to the party policy manual. That’s sad.
Even at all-candidates forums, simple questions are followed by generic answers concocted by their particular political party. I had noticed things going that way myself in recent years. In one constituency, every second NDP candidate’s street sign now says Rachel Notley instead of the local representative. Hmmm. . . . contd.
