Tofield learns the power of kindness

Tofield School strives to make the world a better place by educating students about kindness and how it can change people’s lives.

In order to enforce this and further the students’ understanding, Kathleen Scheu decided to bring in a unique presentation hosted on, Tuesday, March 19.

“The event was presented by Live Different, a youth empowerment charity,” said Scheu. ”They presented a high energy concert mixed with personal stories. The presentation’s title suitably aligned with their main message, ‘KINDNESS CHANGES EVERYTHING.’”

Grades 7 to 12 watched the concert like a presentation.

Scheu noted that she wanted to encourage and support youth in Tofield School to take action and show kindness and caring. These grades were chosen for the presentation because the Live Different group indicated that the content discussed was most appropriate for youth from those grades.

“Live Different encourages volunteering,” explained Scheu. “Their focus on kindness through volunteering not only enforces the message, but it also increases positive mental health, boosts feelings of connectedness and belonging, and changes perspectives for youth.” . . . contd.
