Tofield’s 9th Annual Bull Bash entertains, Jared Parsonage on top
As one of the latest bull riding events on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA)’s calendar, Tofield didn’t disappoint this past Saturday, April 13, as it hosted its annual Bull Bash for the ninth year.
Coming out on top was Saskatchewan Maple Creek’s Jared Parsonage who scored a ride of 82 in the long-go, and 85 in the short-go to average 166.5 on two and the win. Parsonage was the only man to ride two bulls at the Bull Bash.
Close behind was Jordan Hansen of Okotoks, who conquered the long-go with a 86 ride, but was unable to secure a qualifying ride in the short-go.
The other four riders who made it in the long-go were – Shane Peters (Delburne) with 85.5; Cody Floyd (Trochu) with 85.5; Billy West (Cadogan) with 85.5; and Ty Ellis (Sonningdale, SK) with 85.
The announcer for the evening was Dustin Edwards of Big Valley, with Monty Phillips and Levi Hale being the bull fighters, and the pick-up man being Darcy McKinney.
The stock contractors were as follows: Girletz Rodeo. Thompson Rodeo, Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls, Vold Rodeo, and Skori Bucking Bulls.
Entertainment for the kids were provided by Justin Tiedemann of Backyard Balloons.
Emily Sjursen started the evening with ‘O Canada!’ which was followed by some amazing introductions silhouetted by fireworks, leading to the Bull Bash with 30 contestants vying for the top spot.
