UCP wins Alberta as Conservatives ran the electoral table, Jackie Lovely our riding’s new MLA

The Camrose riding elected its very first female MLA as they voted United Conservative Party (UCP)’s Jackie Lovely to represent the constituency.

“I am happy, really happy that we have won, and my team has worked incredibly hard knocking doors for the past 11 months in minus 35 weather for change, and now that will become a reality,” said Lovely after her massive win. “We have been committed to working and bringing about a change, and that’s what we will do.”

With an elector count of 30,456 and 22,081 people voting, a change was imminent, and that’s what we saw in Alberta’s 30th provincial general election, as the New Democratic Party (NDP) was voted out of power.

“We will work with the coal communities,” Lovely said when interviewed after her win and asked about repealing the Carbon Tax, one of the UCP pillars, which her party rode. “Bill 1 will be repealing the carbon tax so we can make life more affordable for seniors, families, business people, everyone.”

And how would Lovely work to keep her promises to the constituency, including the much talked about Bill 6.

“Through legislation we will bring about the desired changes. We will pass a bill to correct a previous bill, Bill 6, passed by the majority NDP government.” . . . contd.
