Thefts and mischief keep Tofield RCMP busy

During the past week, Tofield RCMP responded to 52 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were eight motor vehicle collisions, four 911 hangups, and a false alarm.

On July 15, Tofield RCMP received a call of a theft of a motor vehicle. The truck was parked near the IGA on 51 Ave. in Tofield. Unknown suspects stole the vehicle a White International 4000 series truck. To date, the vehicle has not been recovered. On July 15, a resident of Tofield reported their truck was parked in front of their residence. Sometime overnight, another vehicle collided with it and took off.

On July 15, a business in Tofield reported a generator had been left by their shop. The generator was picked up by the Tofield RCMP and is being held for 60 days.

On July 15, Tofield RCMP were on patrol in Tofield and conducted a vehicle stop on a Silver Pontiac Montana. The licence plate did not match the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was unable to produce valid registration or insurance for the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle a 47-year-old female was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle on a highway. She was released on a summons to attend Vegreville Provincial Court on Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. . . . contd.
