Terry Fox Run more than a fundraiser at Tofield School
For many students, the Terry Fox Run is more than just a fundraiser.
On Friday, Sept. 27 C.W. Sears School and Tofield School students ran together to raise money for cancer research.
‘For over 30 years The Terry Fox Foundation has strived to achieve a world without cancer,’ The Terry Fox Foundation website states. Every year the Terry Fox run is held in over 9,000 communities across Canada and countries worldwide host annual events in support of Fox’s dream to help find a cure for cancer.
“I think the Terry Fox Run is important in order to keep raising money for cancer research,” said Grade 9 student Otto Schroeder. “I was running for my grandpa.”
Schroeder said he thinks running in order to raise money for cancer is meaningful since each student then is doing more than just sending money to the Foundation, and that running can show how much work people can put into an important cause. . . . contd.
