Tofield School holiday activities bring cheer to students and staff

From Monday, Dec. 16 to Thursday, Dec. 19, the Tofield School engaged in various holiday and non-Christmas related activities – including the Spirit Week – organized by the Senior Leadership Class.

“Our class split into several different groups,” said Grade 11 student Zoë Solomon. “Each group had a purpose, for example, my group was in charge of organizing Spirit Week.”

Her group went through several ideas for Spirit Week as long as they were within the budget, before settling on the four they eventually picked.

“We got a lot of our ideas from the internet,” Solomon explained. “It took us two weeks to plan everything for the event.”

When examining different ideas for each day, her group tried to find something that would suitable for the school as a whole.

Grade 5 students entertain the school making beats with cups to play Christmas tunes.

“We had designed the Spirit Week so that there could be two pyjama days,” she said. “The first day of the week was onesie or hat and scarf day. Then the final day of the week was pyjama day.”

Solomon noted that over the years pyjama day has always been the most popular, and they hoped that there would be more participation.

“Another reason we really wanted to have two pyjama days was that we were getting close to the holidays . . .” contd.
