Busy B Open House showcases various community projects
One of the cornerstones of Tofield and area community, Busy B held its Annual Open House and Awareness event on Saturday, March 7 at the Tofield Community Hall.
The first hour was dedicated to all the 30 projects that Busy B supports, followed by an invitation dinner made by The United Church ladies.
“We were very happy with the turnout,” said Yvonne Brown, who is the main operator and organizer of the establishment along with her team of “awesome volunteers”. “We are so happy that we were able to give out some cheques to local organizations who are an integral part of our community.”
Brown who sits on various boards in town and beyond has been raising awareness to all the projects that were on display.
From yarn for the Tofield Lodge Knitters to Edmonton’s Reuse Centre, there were a huge range of projects that Busy B supports.
“Among the funds we gave out were cheques to the Tofield Ag. Society for the Bull Bash ($500); Happy Wanderers ($500); Wild Oats & Notes Music Festival ($300); Tofield School Christmas Breakfast ($250); Tofield School Musical Theatre ($300); Big Picture Theatre in Holden ($300); and Ryley Swimming Pool ($2,400 – $200 for each month),” Brown said. “These organizations have been so amazing, involving kids and adults in different . . . contd.
