Beaver County Council saves $1.2 million with new gravel crush and supply contracts
Beaver County Council agreed to accept the gravel crush and supply bids of one company for both east and west ends of the county, for a total savings over the previous contract of $1.2 million.
This was discussed at the latest council meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
In the east end, McDonald Aggregates was accepted in the amount of $1,890,181.60 for two years of gravel crush (2021-2022) and supply with the option to renew for an additional two years.
The tender would cover the area from the east end of the county to the area of Holden in the county’s centre.
Administration had opened tender packages on Sept. 23 for the east end and west end tenders. Public Works Director Dan Blackie stated that in the east end tender, three submissions matched specifications of the RFQ and were considered. McDonald Aggregates RFQ was then selected “as the most favourable,” with a savings of $483,733.65 from the previous 2019-2020 contract. . . . contd.
