Spirit Lifters
It doesn’t take me long to read the weekly newspaper from front to back these days. I avoid anything Covid or Trump related – why don’t they both just go away? – so along with my usual weather-horoscope-funnies viewing, I look for anything that might lift my spirits. Because lately I’ve been down in the dumps, and I don’t like it down there.
Believe it or not, I found several spirit lifters that I thought I’d share with you. Just stop me if you’ve already heard them.
First let’s talk about the cute pictures of small dogs out walking with their people, who have dressed their pets for the cold weather in sweaters, some quite ugly but so what, and little booties wrapping their tiny paws. Surprisingly the dogs didn’t have disgusted expressions on their faces; they actually seemed happy to be outside, warm and getting some exercise. At least they weren’t snarling at the photographer.
