COVID-19 pandemic continues to play spoiler as Tofield Winterfest was cancelled this past weekend, however that didn’t dampen residents from the town and surrounding areas to participate in Stuff the Bus on Saturday, Nov. 29.

“We had a great turnout, with people showing up throughout the day and purchasing the $10 and $15 coupons for respective hampers,” said Dave Hare Sr., owner of Tofield IGA, and an active participant in the Christmas Hamper program. “It’s amazing how people of this community comes together in a spirit of giving. Despite COVID, we were able to raise a significant amount!”

Each year Hare matches up to $2,000 in contributions to Stuff the Bus donations.

“This year we had 201 hampers of $15 and 150 hampers of $10. In all these years, this is the first time we crossed the 200 mark in the $15 hampers, which is truly generous,” said Vanita Eglauer, treasurer and secretary of the Christmas Hamper committee. . . . contd.
