WWII veteran Hans Christensen dies at 104
One of Tofield’s most beloved and popular WWII veterans, Hans Christensen passed away at the Tofield Long Term Care facility last month, shy of three months from celebrating his 105th birthday on Feb. 23, 2021.
Speaking about their dad, his three children – Sonja, June, and Tom – remembered him fondly and said that he was an amazing man and a true definition of him would include phrases such as, “a man of utmost integrity who believed either one was right or wrong, and there was virtually no room for grey”; “he was a stickler for rules and doing things right despite the fact that it may require more time and effort”; “he was a pillar of the community always believing in contributing when and where one could”; “a strong proponent of continuous learning, he was an early adopter of computer technology and enjoyed it until age 100”; and “he embraced fiscal responsibility, and was absolutely committed to his family and their well being.”
