Tofield School focuses on real-life experience with Cosmetology program

Tofield School will have its first batch of the three-year Cosmetology credit program by June 2023.

Started last year in November, Tofield School staff and instructor Stacey Estey said, “The program is set up by modules and each topic is a module. For example, one of our modules is based on manicuring. The program is designed to run over a three year period with students advancing to the next level once they have completed the course requirements from the previous year’s modules.”

Among the modules covered so far are manicuring, personal and professional practices, and long hair design. But it also includes pedicuring, facials, waxing, artificial nails, make-up, and advanced hair designs.

“The first year, we begin with basic knowledge and skills, which is expanded on each year. For example, in year one we begin with a basic manicure and in year two we add on services, such as paraffin wax and/or gel nail polish. We also offer cosmetology at the junior high level.” . . . contd.
