Spilstead Ladies Group raises over $2K in 45th Annual Highway Cleanup

The 45th annual highway cleanup took place on Saturday, May 1 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Several local volunteers wearing bright orange safety vests collected trash along highways outside town to raise funds for community organizations.

“For every kilometre we raised $100, and since our group – Spilstead Ladies Group – cleaned 23.8 km, we made $2,300 and another $102 in bottles,” said Lesley Anderson, secretary of the Spilstead Ladies Group. . . . contd.
