Tofield RCMP responds to suspected impaired drivers

The Tofield RCMP responded to 46 occurrences from June 7 to 13, 2021 (inclusive). Also included in these calls for service were five traffic complaints/tickets, four false alarms, six traffic collisions, ten suspicious person/vehicle complaints and traffic enforcement provided by the K Division Traffic Unit.

On June 7, Tofield RCMP along with Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Strathcona County and the vehicle failed to stop for police. On June 9, the driver, Hemla Wilson of Strathcona County was arrested and on June 10, was charged with the following: 1) Flight from Police officer Following a judicial hearing, Hemla Wilson was released and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Sherwood Park on June 30.

On June 8, Tofield RCMP responded to a suspected impaired driver in Ryley. RCMP located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. RCMP conducted impaired screening on the driver and was found to be impaired. The driver, Randy Keeton of Scott, Saskatchewan was arrested and issued a three-day provincial driving suspension.
