Minced Meat Patties
With Canada Day happening tomorrow and Covid rules lifted many of you are probably planning to fire up the ol’ Barbie, grill a mess of burgers for family and friends, right? And you are likely wondering when the first hamburger was created, in 1900, 1885, or mid-1700 – and where, and who was smart enough to do it, right? And was it between two slices of bread or on a bun? Important questions that need answering, right? No, I don’t think so either!
What’s important is that hamburgers, or minced meat patties as they apparently were called back whenever, did show up at some eatery, somewhere and the gained in popularity when enough diners recognized them as a tasty treat, encouraging cooks to keep them on their menus. Personally, you can have your steaks; I’ll trip over the curb . . . contd.
