Keeping Your Cool
Who would’ve thought that as I write this on Canada Day I would be wishing it was February with enough snow on the ground for me to roll around in like a polar bear cub on the Nature channel? That’s what too many days – more than none – in the sweltering temps of a heatwave do to a person’s brain. Mine feels all swollen up and stuck on a single thought – ice! Gimme ice!
Bags of ice that will cool my tea, coffee, juices, sodas, maybe even beer once the ice has diluted it enough that I can stand the taste. Other bags to keep my ice cream, frozen yogurt and Popsicles at least half-frozen while the freezer is loaded with meats and other entrees that will go directly from freezer to barbecue – the cooktop and oven will be shunned until further notice. . . . contd.
