Wildfires to the west of us, more to the east, as both B.C. and northern Saskatchewan are burning. We’re caught in the middle, the smelly smoke from the B.C. fires dropping our air quality to health risk levels. If the winds shift we could get more of the same from Saskatchewan, and who’s to say the fires themselves won’t jump the border. Just when we thought it was safe to go outside and live our lives. . . .

Officials are watching our forests closely, of course, but I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be prudent of us to change our family camping plans. One of our sons is currently camping in Saskatchewan with friends, a large group that goes out every summer, trying new parks and lakes that sound interesting. But I’m not worried, much, because they are in the southern part . . . contd.
