Tofield’s Sodbuster and Promenade returns after two years

Next weekend, from Aug. 7-8, the Tofield and area community will be busy getting themselves to engage in Promenade activities and catch the 38th Annual Sodbuster Rodeo.

After a two-year hiatus, one of the main staples of the community returns, bigger and better, according to Vanita Eglauer, Recreation/Facilities Coordinator at the Town of Tofield.

Rodeo Chair Rick Neufeld anticipates another full entry of cowboys and cowgirls to be participating.

“Co-sanctioned with both the Lakeland Rodeo Association and the Wildrose Rodeo Association, the Tofield Sodbuster Rodeo is one of the favourites, and always draws a large number of entries,” she said.

The rodeo weekend will kick off with the popular Rodeo Promenade /Street Fair on Main Street Friday night, Aug. 6, from 5 – 9 p.m.
