Tofield RCMP attend to fraud complaints

The Tofield RCMP responded to 55 occurrences from Oct. 4 to 10, 2021 (inclusive). Also included in these calls for service were 22 traffic complaints/tickets, nine suspicious person/vehicle complaints, two wellbeing checks, three 911 complaints/false alarms, three motor vehicle collisions and traffic enforcement provided by the K Division Traffic Unit.

On Oct. 5, Tofield RCMP responded to a fraud complaint in Tofield. RCMP spoke to the complainant who advised that they had identified that suspicious software had been installed on their computer and after speaking to Microsoft, they were advised that their personal banking information and Social Insurance Number had been stolen.
