Local quilters contribute to community projects

Tofield Country Quilters have been busy contributing to community projects, from sewing bags for ‘Days for Girls’ kits to quilts, table runners, and mats using the Fibonacci sequence.

Speaking to the Fibonacci sequence, President Adele Miller said, “Who knew that I’d use my Math knowledge! There is a unique ratio that relates to ancient monolithic structures, Cobalt Niobate crystals, celestial bodies, clues to the financial market, number of veins in a leaf, and quilting . . . the Fibonacci sequence or the golden ratio.

“I never thought I would apply this formula to my life, today or ever . . . the sequence is 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89,144, 233, 377, and so on.”
