Second Annual Hastings Lake Lights bring smiles

Hastings Lake Bible Camp hosted their second annual Hastings Lake Lights this past weekend.

The event, which was created as a fundraiser after the Camp was forced to shut down because of the pandemic, is a drive-thru event, with the main RV campground being converted to a ‘winter wonderland.’

“As all of the regular in-person fundraisers were also not possible, Hastings Lights was created as a fundraiser that didn’t rely on face-to-face gathering or indoor venues,” said Andrew Carlson, Camp Director. “It quickly gained traction with the greater community and region, and we’ve welcomed more than 1,250 people in 2020.”

With each of the 15 sites being decorated with unique and homemade light displays, the campground has become a major attraction.

“We had many people, organizations, and supporters asking if Hastings Lights would run again this year, and so, a tradition is born, and we hope to continue this,” Carlson added. “This weekend we saw more than 1,300 people over the three nights we held it.” . . . contd.
