Fort Saskatchewan RCMP charge two with drug trafficking

 On June 18, 2024, at 8:25 p.m. Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle and occupants in a rural area in Sturgeon County. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon arrpoach police located items consistent with copper wire theft as well as In the bed of the truck police located copper wire and a reciprocating saw. The driver was arrested for breaching conditions. A search of the vehicle was conducted and police located approximately 65 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, Bear spray,  as well as items consistent with drug trafficking. Police conducted further patrols and located and arrested a second suspect further down the road.

RCMP have charged Edmonton resident, Maureen Tokes Awoyomi (45), with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance;
  • Possession of break in tools;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Fail to comply with release conditions.

Awoyomi was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with her next court date set for June 20, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan.

RCMP have charged Edmonton resident Clinton Wade Kneller (51), with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance;
  • Possession of break in tools;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Kneller was taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody with his next court date set for July 11, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan.

“These suspects were arrested because of a vigilant member of the public, “ says Staff Sergeant Terry Hyggen. “ We encourage the public to listen to your instincts and if something looks suspicious please call us.”
