Strathcona County RCMP respond to fatal collision on Hwy 14 intersection

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a serious collision involving a Peterbilt semi-tractor and a Cadillac at the intersection of Highway 14 and Range Road 232 in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Strathcona County RCMP attended the scene along with Strathcona County Emergency Services. The 88-year-old driver of the Cadillac was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 48-year-old driver of the semi-tractor was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Although the collision is still under investigation, Strathcona County RCMP’s preliminary investigation indicates the semi-tractor was heading eastbound on Highway 14 when it collided with the Cadillac that entered the intersection.
