Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates Homicide at Edmonton Corn Maze

On Aug. 27, 2024 at 7:02 p.m. Parkland RCMP received a report of a stabbing that occurred at the Edmonton Corn Maze on Highway 627 near Spruce Grove Alberta. Upon arrival, an adult victim was located deceased.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was dispatched to the area to carry out an investigation.

As a result, Alberta RCMP have laid charges in connection with the murder of a male victim. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Joseph Farnsworth.

As a result, RCMP have charged 41-year-old Michael George Ferzli with Second-degree-murder.

Ferzli was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Sept. 4, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.

While RCMP investigate, we are asking anyone that was at the Corn Maze on Aug. 27, 2024, from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m. to call the Parkland RCMP at 825-220-7267. RCMP reported that the two individuals knew each other.
