Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services seek input from community on policing priorities
Residents are invited to help set 2025/2026 policing priorities for Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services by completing a short online survey.
“We believe that community input is essential for effective policing,” says Tom Sutton, director of Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services. “Whether you live or work in Strathcona County, this is your opportunity to tell us what safety concerns are important to you and shape policing focuses over the next year.
Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services work closely together to protect public safety throughout the County. The detachment’s integrated efforts include responding to crime, supporting victims, enforcing traffic laws and providing public education through community engagement initiatives.
“Our departments collaborate daily to preserve the peace, uphold the law and enhance quality of life in Strathcona County,” says Sutton. “Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming community where everyone feels heard and secure. By filling out the survey, residents help us meet that goal.”
Statistics, responses to calls for service, crime trends and input from community partners and stakeholders are also considered when assigning resources for the year.
The survey is available online from January 13 until February 2 at strathcona.ca/PoliceSurvey. Residents can follow the survey and be notified when results are published by joining County Voice at strathcona.ca/CountyVoice.
