County hears complaints regarding landfill layoffs
Beaver County Council discussed an issue regarding Beaver Municipal Solutions (BMS) brought forward by Deputy Reeve Ron Yarham (Division 3) at the Aug. 15 meeting.
Yarham said people have told him on the phone and stated “in the coffee shops” that they are upset regarding recent layoffs at BMS, the regional landfill north of Ryley that employs over 40 people.
BMS is a municipal partnership under the governance of a commission composed of the towns, villages and the county within the borders of Beaver County.
“I want to get it on record that there are a lot of upset people,” said Yarham. “I was asked to bring it to our council.”
