Fort Saskatchewan RCMP lay charges following recovered stolen vehicle investigation

On June 27, 2024, shortly after 9:30 a.m., a member of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic and Crime Reduction Unit (TCRU) located a stolen vehicle at a motel on 93 Avenue and 99 Street in Fort Saskatchewan.

The TCRU member observed a male suspect run into one of the motel rooms, and then run out the back of the motel into a residential area. A second male suspect also fled out the back of the motel.

Area residents were quick thinking and called 911 as the same two suspects were seen entering a holiday trailer parked on a residential property on 92 Avenue.

David Richard St. Germain (31), a resident of Edmonton, and Emmanuel Kafui Mawusi (31), a resident of Spruce Grove, were both taken into custody with the assistance of Fort Saskatchewan general duty members.

St. Germain and Mawusi were both charged with one count each of break and enter with intent and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Both are scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice on August 15, 2024 in Fort Saskatchewan.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP would like to thank the good samaritans who reported this suspicious activity in progress, and urge anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to call the police.
