Mayor urges public not to panic over doctor shortage – Dr. Marina Sapozhnikov going as of April 30 leaving only one doctor in Tofield
Tofield Mayor Nabil Chehayeb is urging the public not to panic with word that another doctor is leaving the community.
“There’s no need to panic yet, no need to panic at all,” he said. “Please think positive. Nothing can be accomplished now with negativity.”
But Reeve Bob Young says that, in light of several doctors coming and going in the last decade, a method should be found to keep doctors once they are recruited.
The community is reeling from news that as of April 30th Dr. Marina Sapozhnikov is leaving after running a long-standing clinic on main street in Tofield.
Tofield’s mayor said he was saddened by the news.
