Satellites shook up Daysland Arena with 4-3 BRHL finals game 1 victory vs 18-time champs

Tofield Satellites took the opening game of their Battle River Hockey League best-of-seven final series against Daysland North Stars with a 4-3 win Saturday evening at Daysland Arena.

Satellites jumped in front 3-1 after the opening period on goals by Ryan Olson, Greg Holmberg, and Jeff Bienvenue.

BRHL playoff leading scorer Brett Holmberg put Tofield in front 4-1 in the second frame, before Daysland started a comeback on goals by Ryan Yuha and Colin Zimmer to end the frame 4-3.

The third period was hard hitting, nasty and dominated by the goaltending of Christopher Roy as Daysland worked very hard to tie the game. Ultimately the Satellites held on for the game one victory.

Game two is tonight (Sunday) at 8:30 pm at Tofield Arena.
