Burns Night Potluck Dinner features “Ode to A Haggis”

Tofield Legion celebrated Scottish poet Robbie Burns’ birthday with the familiar “Ode to A Haggis,” recited with great relish by Legion Past-President Brian Donovan, who then performed the ceremonial stabbing of the dish with a dramatic flair.

The Legion pays tribute to Scotland’s famous son every year with a pot-luck dinner. Burns was born on Jan. 25 in 1759 and died on July 21, 1796 but his legend lives on around the world.

This year, the evening dedicated in the bard’s honour was held last Saturday.
