KAITLYNN DYCK WINS GOLD DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
Kaitlynn Dyck received her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award in Calgary on June 24, in a ceremony with His Royal Highness The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Her Honour, Lois Mitchell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta.
She is the proud daughter of Gord and Peggy Dyck, and sister of Levi and Joshua Dyck.
Kaitlynn joined the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at the Bronze level when she was 15-years-old in 2010. She completed the Gold level of the Award exactly two years later when she was 17 – her senior year of high school.
Kaitlynn was very involved in Sea Cadets throughout the award, which offered her the opportunity to travel at sea, teach other cadets, and lead her Sea Cadet Corps as Cox-swain.
