Policies for maintaining roads and for snow clearing levels of service were passed by Beaver County Council Feb. 15. The county previously did not have an official road maintenance policy, although there was a certain standard based on current practices.
The county put these current practices into writing, and adopted the Snow and Ice Clearing Level of Service policy, after the 2011-2012 winter with its record snowfall and ratepayer complaints about snow clearance problems.
Council also rescinded the former Snowplowing and Grading Policy in favour of the new policy.
