Ryley Class of 2018 celebrated
It was another milestone, one of the many for the Ryley grad Class of 2018, as they graduated on Friday, May 25.
With 16 graduates this year, the class celebrated one another’s achievements and reminisced about their many moments together over the years.
The evening started with the processional, followed by the banquet. At 7 p.m. the centre space was cleared to accommodate the graduates and guests.
Mrs. Dani Peters made a toast to start the evening ceremonies, which was followed by a “Toast to Parents” by Mason Romaniuk, which was aptly responded to by his father, Darcy Romaniuk.
Battle River School Board trustee Zsuzsanna Hemperger brought greetings from BRSD education board, with Deputy Mayor Cindy Heslin bringing greetings from the Village of Ryley and Mayor Mark Giebelhaus from the Village of Holden.
The Valedictorian of 2018 was Sebastian Kowalski who in his address thanked the staff, coaches, and mentors who have supported them.
“The adults in our lives have taught us from a young age to always try our best and strive for greatness, and if all that we’ve accomplished in the past few years isn’t greatness, then I don’t want to know what it is,” Kowalski said.
