Ryley Sports Day gets town busy in the weekend

This past weekend, Ryley held its annual Sports Day with a live music festival kickoff party on Friday evening, June 15, followed by two days of festivities.

One of the biggest highlights has always been the parade with local businesses and service clubs participating from the area, and this year was no different.

The Ryley Legion came together with Tofield and other Zone 2 members to head up the parade.

It was raining candies as parade members made sure to keep children busy throughout the 30-minute long cavalcade.

There were also other attractions, such as the “Chicken John”‘s petting zoo, and the Ryley Curling Club running the concession, along with other vendors who took the opportunity to display some local crafts and food items.

The ball diamonds kept busy with the Curtis Stensrud Slo-Pitch tournament hosting teams from Ryley and the surrounding area.

Later in the day there was a roast beef dinner, dance, and fireworks.
