Tofield RCMP issues bylaw ticket for swearing in public

During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 32 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were a 911 hangup, a motor vehicle collision, and three false alarms.

On July 2, Tofield RCMP were called to an incident at a residence in Beaver County. On arrival RCMP were able to speak with both parties involved. It was found there was an argument which escalated to one party assaulting the other. The assailant a 41-year-old female from Beaver County was arrested for assault and was released from custody to attend Vegreville Provincial Court on Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. On conducting the investigation, it was found there were several firearms in the residence and the owner no longer had a valid firearms licence. A 39-year-old male from Beaver County was arrested for unauthorized possession of a firearm x2 and was charged. He was released from custody on an Officer in Charge recognizance to attend Vegreville Provincial Court on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. The firearms were seized and will remain with the RCMP.

On July 4, a call was received at the Tofield Skate park of two youths fighting. The caller advised there were two males wrestling and when she went to break up the fight, one of the males began yelling and swearing at her.
