The third oversize load to travel through town this Thursday
With the relentless cold snap the past few days, the third oversize vessel scheduled to move between Feb. 10-13, will be moving through town on Thursday, Feb. 21.
The 728-tonne, 48-metre-long piece of petrochemical equipment, called a polypropylene reactor, will travel from Edmonton to the Industrial Heartland over the four day-period.
At 12 metres tall and 10 metres wide, the reactor is roughly twice the height of an adult giraffe. It converts propylene into a powdered substance used to fabricate diverse products such as medical equipment, athletic apparel and food storage containers, according to a statement released by the provincial government. It left the Cessco yard in Edmonton on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 9 p.m. and will be staged at the staging area on Hwy. 14 through Feb. 20. . . contd.
