Hardisty residents charged in skid steer and trailer mischief in Tofield

During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 38 calls for service.

Included in the calls for service were five motor vehicle collisions, a false alarm, and a 911 hangup.

On Feb. 26, Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit attended Tofield in regards to a stolen skid steer and trailer, which was located in the area. A suspect was observed hooked up to the trailer and leaving with both the skid steer and the trailer. Tofield RCMP assisted in conducting a vehicle stop and the driver, a 69-year-old male from Hardisty was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The male was released from custody on an Officer in Charge recognizance to attend court on March 18 in Vegreville Provincial Court. A second suspect was identified as having been in possession of the skid steer. The male was arrested and on arrest he was searched incidental to arrest. A large amount of cash was located on his person and a large amount of cocaine was located in his belongings. The male a 39-year-old from Hardisty was charged . . . contd.
