Busy B Awareness and Presentation event sees record attendees
On Saturday, March 2, Tofield’s Main Street was busier than usual as members of the Tofield community and area, and others from as far as Daysland and elsewhere congregated at the Community Hall to see Busy B’s many projects and received donations, totaling $2,000.
“We’re very pleased and happy with the turnout this year,” said Yvonne Brown, main organizer and community volunteer. “We gave away three $500 donations to Tofield Bull Bash, Roger’s Holden drama class, and Happy Wanderers; in addition, we donated two $250 checks to the Tofield School’s musical theatre coming up in March, and to the program – Titans Now.”
The day started with attendees touring the various project setups, which was followed by a meal and presentations.
“Among the many projects we have this year, are two new projects we’re excited about,” Brown added. “Crayola ColorCycle is one of them, whereby anyone can collect their dried up colouring pens, markers, and highlighters; CW Sears’ May Korobko has very generously registered the school and will set up the station where all of it can be collected.” Crayola will pay for shipping, and all that needs to be done is counting and packing the colours into cardboard boxes and having them ready for pick up.
The other project that Brown has been happy to help with is the warm clothes’ donations to the Boyle Street Community Services, besides Bissell Centre, and Mustard Seed in Edmonton. . . . contd.
