Tilly’s was packed as UCP candidate Jackie Lovely comes to town

This past Saturday, March 30, candidates have been campaigning in earnest for the upcoming election, which brought UCP candidate Jackie Lovely to Tofield.

Hosting her meet and greet in Tilly’s, Lovely and her team emphasized on the many changes that would take place if Kenney was voted to power.

Speaking to carbon tax, Lovely said, “Kenney is pro-coal, we are pro-coal; we will stop the NDP’s accelerated shutdown of coal-fired plants, and support Alberta’s coal industry, and the jobs and communities that depend on it.

“Some producers have made market decisions to convert from coal to natural gas production, which, in the long run, is a good thing, but in the medium term, coal is a reliable and inexpensive form of power; of course, producers can continue operating those modern plants if they choose to do so, once we stop the accelerated shutdown.”

When Lovely was asked about her party’s stance on seniors’ housing, she went on to elaborate how a UCP government would, if elected, commission a comprehensive performance review of Alberta Health Services. . . . contd.
