Local thefts and mischief keep Tofield RCMP busy
During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 44 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were five false alarms and two motor vehicle collisions.
On April 23, the Tofield RCMP received a call to a worksite in Beaver County. Unknown suspect(s) had taken a Caterpillar side boom and had driven it in the worksite. In doing so, the suspect(s) got the Boom stuck and abandoned it.
On April 23, a resident of Beaver County reported a theft from their property. The locks were broke off of the gas tanks and a large amount of fuel, both gas and diesel were stolen.
On April 24, RCMP were called to a residence in Tofield where the caller had found two males in his vehicle. The suspects fled in a white SUV. RCMP attended and located the white SUV and attempted to stop it. The suspect vehicle fled and RCMP did not pursue. RCMP continued patrols and received a call of a male on foot who had smashed the back window of the caller’s vehicle. The RCMP located the male who ran from members. The male stopped and was arrested for mischief. The male was found to have several warrants for his arrest. The male, a 25-year-old male from North Battleford, Saskatchewan was charged with mischief and with possession of break-in instruments. He was held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing and was released from custody on a $3,500 no cash recognizance to attend court on May 27, 2019 in Vegreville Provincial Court. . . . contd.
