Thefts and assaults keep Tofield RCMP busy

During the past week, Tofield RCMP responded to 37 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were three motor vehicle collisions and two false alarms.

On June 4, Tofield RCMP were called to a disturbance at a residence in Holden. One of the occupants was under the influence of drugs and the family was afraid of the person. The suspect had also threatened other occupants of the house. RCMP members attended and located the suspect in front of the residence. The suspect was not making sense, was hallucinating and hearing voices. The suspect was arrested for uttering threats and under the Mental Health Act. The female was transported to the hospital for examination; was charged with uttering threats and released from custody on a Promise To Appear to attend Vegreville Provincial Court on July 15.

On June 6, Tofield RCMP were called to a rural address in Beaver County for an assault. Members arrived on scene but the suspect was gone on arrival. At the residence was a female who had been pushed and some of her hair was ripped out. On leaving the suspect damaged the caller’s vehicle making it inoperable. A statement and photos were obtained.
