Vacant rural property in Ryley broken into
During the last week, Tofield RCMP responded to 38 calls for service.
On Dec. 30, member responded to a rural property north of Holden, AB. The complainant had just bought the property through auction and when he went to the house, there was an unknown male living there. The male had been staying at the house with the permission of the previous owners but this was not passed onto the new owner. No charges were laid in this instance. Tofield members were dispatched to an attempted suicide by an underage female. EMS also attended and transported the female to Tofield Hospital for observation and treatment.
On Dec. 31, a female attended the detachment to provide a statement for Criminal Harassment. The male involved is currently under two orders for no contact with the female. A warrant in the first instance has been received for the arrest of the male with several counts of breaching a court order and harassment. Edmonton Police Service is assisting with this file.
On Jan. 3, Tofield RCMP were asked to check on the welfare of an elderly gentleman on a rural property in Beaver County. No one had heard from him for four days. Members were able to track him down, noting that he had been transferred to a hospital in Edmonton due to an illness. The complainant was advised.
On the afternoon of Jan. 3, there was a report of a rural property near Ryley on Rge. Rd. 174 that may have been broken into. RCMP attended, the house was for sale and was empty at the time . . . contd.
