During the last week, Tofield RCMP responded to 27 calls for service last week, eight of which were Motor Vehicle Collisions, and seven of which were animal-related collisions.

On Jan. 8, Tofield RCMP received a call of an unknown male who shot himself in the arm while hunting. Members attended, and located the two men who were out hunting coyotes on a skidoo. While travelling across a stubble field, they hit a snow drift and one of the 12-gauge shotguns went off after hitting the back of the skidoo. The male on the back of the skidoo was hit in the right arm just above the elbow. EMS transported the male to Camrose hospital for treatment. This file is still under investigation.

There was a report of an impaired driver in the early morning hours of Jan. 11 in Ryley. A witness saw a vehicle hit a snowbank and become stuck in the snow. A Tofield RCMP member attended but the driver had fled the scene. The vehicle was towed. . . . contd.
