“This year was the first year we held a tournament with the new Novice program mandated by Hockey Canada in which players moved from a full ice game to four-on-four on half ice,” said Novice Director Kelsey Williams. “All the teams skated hard and put in some great games! The kids had fun, and the concession is always great and we had many great prizes for our raffle table.”

Williams said the Novice community in Tofield owed a big thank you to many of the local sponsors that took the time to get donations together to support the kids.

“Especially during these harder economic times, every little bit helps in a small town tournament,” Williams added. “We’d also like to thank our local IGA for donating juice boxes.” . . . contd.
